Missions

First Baptist Kilgore has always had a vision to be a Great Commission church. The various missions and ministries that we are involved in are expressions of that vision. The desire is that we will don more in the future individually and corporately.

First Baptist Church has a long legacy of active involvement in missions in our community, our state, and our world.

Our church participates in the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, which provides missions funding to missionaries around the world.

We also give to a variety of other needs, including the Gregg Baptist Association, the Highway 80 Rescue Mission, East Texas Baptist University, Habitat for Humanity, and the Baptist Student Ministry of Kilgore College.

There are several ways that you can help with local missions:

GO -- Participate in a short- or long-term mission project by teaching, playing an instrument, working with youth, children, or preschoolers, or assisting with construction efforts.

PRAY-- Pray daily for world missions.  Do a prayer walk around a mission site.  Pray for the pastors of our mission churches.

GIVE-- Help provide additional resources for existing mission churches.  Among those items most requested are pianos and other musical instruments, sound systems, copy machines, teaching aids, signs, or literature.  Or you can make a financial gift to be used in securing land for buildings and property enhancement.

For more information on how you can be involved in missions, please contact David Hampton at 903.984.3531, or e-mail david@fbckilgore.org. Missions is just another way we seek to reach out to our community and our world with the gospel of Christ.
